Question 1 Cuffs

Analyze how sound is used in the extract to create meaning. Refer to at least two examples from the extract in your answer.

Sound in the extract is used to create meaning by amplifying different sounds in certain scenes depending on whats going on in them. for example in the police chase when following the van the sound would be very loud. The music in the background would be very fast paced. This makes the watcher feel part of the moment and absorbed with the action taking place.

Another relevance to sound in the action scene is the loud siren of the police car. The siren is heard because it creates a sense of urgency as you would feel if you heard a police siren in real life. The heightened sound of the siren also raises the watchers heartbeat making the scene more intense.
